LGBTQ* Gamers and Video Game History You Should Know
BioWare’s Dragon Age II
Released in March 2011, Dragon Age II follow Hawke as he travels through the mythical world of Thedas. The game play allowed for a queer* story line (as seen above in the video). The video was met with opposition following its release. One gamer complained to BioWare and accused the developer of “letting down their player base - the straight male gamer.”
David Gaider of BioWare released a statement following the complain in which he said “the romances in the game are not for the ‘straight male gamer.’ They’re for everyone.” You can read the full response HERE.
